While Corbin takes immense pride in his time at Rockledge High School and helped put the program back on the map during his senior year and he admits his local allegiances have shifted just a bit. With family ties now at Eau Gallie (EG) and Holy Trinity (HT), Corbin’s support extends across Brevard County, even as he reminisces about the glory days of Rockledge football.
Carving a Path: From Texas A&M to FSU
Corbin’s transition to the college ranks wasn't without its hurdles. Starting his career at Texas A&M, he found himself behind veteran running back Trayveon Williams (who would go on to be drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals). Instead of backing down, Corbin carved his way out on special teams before making the pivotal decision to return to his home state and transfer to Florida State. It was a brilliant move. Back in Florida, Corbin found his footing, rushing for over 1,200 yards and proving he had elite next-level talent.
The Big Apple Switch-Up
That talent took him straight to the NFL, where he signed with the New York Giants. Moving from "little Brevard County" to the bright lights of New York City was a massive culture shock, but Corbin embraced the fast-paced lifestyle. Thankfully, the league and ownership stepped up. While Corbin jokes that they could have played at old Florida Tech (FIT) or Palm Bay High, the team ultimately secured Bethune-Cookman's Daytona Municipal Stadium for their playoff matchup. For Corbin and his fans, an hour's drive up the road is a massive win, keeping the hometown energy alive for what promises to be an electric playoff run.
