THRONE ROOM IN BALTIMORE: TREVOR'S JAGUARS CRASH A WOUNDED RAVENS EMPIRE

Thursday Night Football used to mean star power stacked on star power. Tonight it means something colder.

The Jacksonville Jaguars head to M&T Bank Stadium at 8:15 p.m. ET as the 5-2 leaders of the AFC South, holding a three-game lead in their division. The Baltimore Ravens are 4-4, having lost three in a row, and will start their third-string quarterback because their star is on injured reserve. Lamar Jackson’s thumb injury knocked him out on the first play against Buffalo and keeps him out tonight. Tyler Huntley is also unavailable. That means undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano will start on short notice while Baltimore works on bigger quarterback plans.

This is the kind of national spotlight Florida has been waiting for. Trevor Lawrence isn’t just getting by anymore—he’s leading the way. In seven games, he’s thrown for 1,690 yards, 17 touchdowns, and four interceptions, and he leads all qualified passers with a 112.6 quarterback rating. Last week against Indianapolis, he completed 10 of 14 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-7 win. The Jaguars’ offense is among the league’s best in EPA per play. Their defense is even tougher: first against the run at 77.4 yards allowed per game, 15.9 points allowed per game, and a plus-7 turnover margin.

Baltimore’s best hope is still Derrick Henry, who has 632 yards and eight touchdowns on 158 carries. But relying on a 32-year-old running back to beat the league’s top run defense while a rookie quarterback adjusts to NFL speed in prime time is a tough ask. The Ravens have been outscored 84-33 during this three-game losing streak, ending with a 36-10 loss to the Bills. They’re 0-3 against the spread at home. The stadium will still be loud, and the fans will still believe. This franchise has always been tough, but toughness without a healthy Jackson is a different story.

Jacksonville has its own injury concerns. Travon Walker (rib) and Bhayshul Tuten (ankle/foot) are both questionable, and a short week is always tough for a visiting team. Even so, the numbers still favor the Jaguars. Lawrence’s progress under Liam Coen has been the big Florida football story this NFL season: consistency, ball security, and explosive plays without mistakes. That’s how you take control of a division and start thinking about the top seed before Thanksgiving.

We’ve seen enough Thursday nights to know the risks: a desperate home team, a simple game plan, some early special-teams surprises, and suddenly the favorite is hanging on by a few points. If Fagnano avoids turnovers and Henry finds some running room, Baltimore can keep things close. But if Jacksonville’s defense wins on first down, this could be a statement night for a team that’s waited years for a big November game on national TV.

From Brevard living rooms to Duval group chats, this is Florida’s NFL story of the week. It’s a young AFC South leader with a rising quarterback facing a proud Ravens team battling through its toughest stretch. We respect Baltimore’s effort, but we trust Lawrence’s progress more than a last-minute backup plan.

Our pick: Jaguars 27, Ravens 13. Florida’s AFC flag gets planted in Baltimore. Buckle up from the Space Coast to the First Coast. Queen Media Sports Report will cover every snap at thequeenmedia.com.
