Storm Look to Rebound in Grudge Match Against Stallions
Orlando football fans, the perfect season may be over, but the real test of character starts right now.
After rattling off four straight wins to open their inaugural 2026 UFL campaign, the Orlando Storm finally met their match last weekend, dropping a tough 25-17 battle to the St. Louis Battlehawks. Still sitting pretty at 4-1, Head Coach Anthony Becht's squad remains tied for the top spot in the league. Now, they return to the friendly confines of Inter&Co Stadium this Sunday, May 3rd, at 4:00 PM EDT for a Week 6 showdown against the 1-4 Birmingham Stallions.
But don’t let Birmingham’s record fool you—this matchup has revenge game written all over it.
The Storyline: DTR's Homecoming
The UFL trade market shook things up, and the narrative couldn't be juicier. Orlando recently dealt quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson to the Stallions, and now DTR is stepping right back onto his old turf to face the team that just shipped him off.
Last week, Thompson-Robinson flashed his potential for Birmingham, throwing for 313 yards and three total touchdowns. However, he also tossed a pair of costly interceptions. He’ll be incredibly hungry to prove the Storm made a mistake letting him go, but he's facing an elite Orlando defense that literally shut this exact Stallions team out just two weeks ago in a dominant 16-0 Week 4 victory in Alabama.
For Orlando, the game plan should be simple: establish the run. Expect to see a heavy dose of running back Jashaun Corbin to control the clock and keep DTR on the sidelines. That will open up play-action strikes downfield for starting QB Jack Plummer, who continues to build a lethal connection with his receiving corps, especially Chris Rowland and Elijhah Badger.
Hard Rock Bet Odds: Week 6
If you're looking to put some action on Sunday's game, the oddsmakers still have plenty of faith in Orlando bouncing back at home. Here are the latest lines for the matchup, courtesy of Hard Rock Bet:
Cody's Betting Take: The Storm already blanked this team on the road. While DTR gives the Stallions a much-needed spark under center, Orlando's defense is disciplined, physical, and knows exactly how to rattle their former teammate. Lay the 5 points with the Storm at home. I also lean toward the Under 44.5; expect a run-heavy, clock-chewing script from Coach Becht to get his squad back on track and minimize turnovers.
