This week's coordinators from around the county should be awarded a game ball. Space Coast put Okeechobee to complete defeat in a 48-0 masterpiece, whereas Satellite carried out essentially a track meet in their 55-0 destruction of Legacy Charter. Eau Gallie kept up their dominant form by beating Heritage 41-0. The Commodores' offense was deadly since senior quarterback Joseph Allen managed two touchdowns with junior Troy Silberzahn, and senior Donovan Richardson scored twice running the ball. Sophomore X'Zavier Corbin also found space for a 65-yard touchdown run and junior Zay Hawkins added his second touchdown of the season. Merritt Island Christian also joined the shutout ranks by defeating Bell Creek Academy 39-0.

Offensive Explosions & The County's Best Kept Secret

If you were after points, you got them on Friday. From the very first play of the game Titusville showed an aggressive attitude by having senior quarterback Remy Vigne throw a 70-yard pass to senior Tank Harvey. Harvey scored three touchdowns and the Terriers easily defeated the Tigers 44 to 9. I'd like to record this: Tank Harvey is the most underrated player in the county.

In Viera the Hawks secured a 35-8 win against Sebastian River, thanks to sophomore quarterback Jaamal Crittington who scored three times by passing and senior Duke Butler who managed two rushing touchdowns. Bayside also beat Palm Bay with a 42-25 performance, something greatly driven by a brilliant four-touchdown display from junior Zion Jones.

Grinders and Looking Ahead

Not every game was a blowout. Melbourne Central Catholic had to dig deep to hold off Benjamin in a hard-fought 35-28 contest, while Merritt Island pulled away late to handle Melbourne 35-7. Astronaut took a tough 48-21 loss to New Smyrna Beach. Mother Nature also had her say, forcing the postponement of Cocoa vs. Central (makeup pending) and Rockledge vs. Spruce Creek (rescheduled for Sept. 14). Meanwhile, Cocoa Beach enjoyed a bye week and will return on September 4 to face Foundation Academy.
